    After we've set up a dialogue, have a design, and you have had the chance to check the references  I provide, the process usually proceeds as follows:  I ask for 1/2 of the balance due to schedule or start the work, and the balance  when the work is finished and before delivery or customer pickup. I will always let you know when I start working on your order and you are invited to come see the work at any time during the process.  If you can't come by to see the work in progress, I will send lots of pictures and close-ups when the work is finished so you'll know what you're paying for!                           

                             1. Personal check by mail, payable to" Richard  Horn" or "Richard Horn/Prairie Spirit Workshop".  An email address, if you have one, and a phone number would be helpful. And of course, to protect yourself add "for deposit only" somewhere in the signature box.

                             2. You can come by the shop and pay me in person.

     After I've received either a final payment, or the initial deposit, I will promptly mail out a receipt on company letterhead signed by me. Please note: 4.5% sales tax will be added to purchases made in VA.

TURNAROUND TIME: Even in these hard economic times, I am staying busy with an adequate amount of work. The current turnaround time is running about five to six months from the time the work is placed on my schedule.

SHIPPING : Shipping is extra and usually runs 10 - 13 percent of the total for the work. If there are any glass panels in the work, there normally is a glass surcharge.

GUARANTEE:

          On larger pieces (chairs, dressers, tables, or other work totaling over $1000), refunds are sometimes possible after work has begun, but usually not.  The cancellation period ceases when I'm about a month away from starting the work. And, if you do decide to cancel at the last minute, because of time lost lining up my next commission the forfeiture may be substantial.  Warranty - six months on gross defects in workmanship.
